Walter E. Longo, MD, MBA, FACS, FASCRS, is a 1984-graduate of New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY. His postgraduate training includes his internship (1984-1985), general surgery residency ((1985-1987 and 1989-1990) and chief Residency (1990), as well as a research fellowship (1988-1989) conducted at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Longo completed his colorectal surgery fellowship at Cleveland Clinic via scholarship (1990-1991). He attained board certification in general surgery with the American Board of Surgery (1991) and in colorectal surgery with the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery (1995). In 2001, Dr. Longo received a Master of Business Administration degree from St. Louis University, followed by a Master of Arts degree Honoris Causa at Yale University in new Haven, CT in 2004. Furthermore, he has gained Fellowship of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and a Fellowship of the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons (FASCRS). Over the years, he has been listed in Connecticut Magazine’s Top Docs (2015-2016), New York Magazine’s Top Doctors (2005-2014), Castle Connolly America’s Top Doctors (2016-2020), New York Metro Area Top Doctors, and America’s Top Doctors for Cancer.
